Refund policy

At The Bombay Black, every product is packed with care. Since our products may include candles, wax melts, fragrances, decor items, gift products and other lifestyle items, we follow a clear return and refund policy to ensure a fair experience for every customer.

Return Window

Return or replacement requests must be raised within 3 days of delivery.

Requests raised after 3 days of delivery may not be accepted.

Eligible Return Cases

A return, replacement or refund may be considered only in the following cases:

You received a damaged product.

You received the wrong product.

One or more items are missing from the package.

The product has a clear manufacturing defect.

Unboxing Video Required

For damaged, missing or wrong product claims, an unboxing video is mandatory.

The video must be recorded from the moment the sealed package is opened and must clearly show the outer packaging, shipping label, all items received and the damage or issue being claimed.

Claims without an unboxing video may not be accepted.

Non-Returnable Items

Returns will not be accepted for:

Used, opened or partially consumed products.

Products damaged due to customer handling, misuse, heat exposure, water exposure or improper storage.

Products without original packaging.

Products purchased during sale, clearance, discount or promotional offers, unless damaged or wrong product is received.

Customised, personalised, bulk, corporate gifting or pre-booked orders.

Products where fragrance preference, colour expectation or minor handmade variation is the reason for return.

Handmade Product Variation

Some TBB products may be handmade or hand-finished. Minor differences in colour, texture, finish, fragrance intensity, wax surface, packaging shade or product appearance are natural and will not be treated as defects.

Return Shipping

Returns are chargeable unless the product received is damaged, defective, wrong or incomplete due to our error.

If a return is approved for any other reason, return shipping charges may be deducted from the refund or paid by the customer.

Refund Process

Once your return request is approved and the product is received and inspected by us, the refund will be processed to the original payment method or another mutually agreed method.

Refunds usually take 7–10 working days after approval, depending on the payment partner or bank.

For COD orders, refunds may be processed through UPI, bank transfer, store credit or another approved method.

Replacement

Where possible, we may offer a replacement instead of a refund. Replacement is subject to product availability.

If the same product is unavailable, we may offer store credit, an alternate product or refund.

Order Cancellation

Orders can be cancelled within 8 hours of placing the order, provided they have not been packed, shipped or dispatched.

Once an order is packed or shipped, it cannot be cancelled. Refusing delivery after dispatch may be treated as a return and shipping/reverse shipping charges may apply.

COD Refusal

For Cash on Delivery orders, repeated refusal of delivery may result in COD being disabled for future orders.
